How to Read These Ranges
The width is the first number and the height is the second. If your measured width falls inside a model's list, that model is available in a standard size; if it falls between two entries, the opening is usually a non-standard order rather than a rounding decision. Heights matter in the same way: a 79″ opening is not covered by the shortest height options.
Widths Shared Across the Family
The DS01 and SS08 lists overlap heavily in the middle of the range. From 48″ to 72″ in width, both publish comparable combinations, and the shared heights are the same. That overlap is why opening size alone rarely decides between the two once you are inside the common range — from there the layout and the mechanism do the deciding.
Where the Models Diverge
Three differences are worth noting when the sizes overlap. First, the SS08 list reaches the tallest combination published for these models, 76″×79″. Second, 76″×76″ appears on the SS08 list and on the DS13H list, while the DS01 list stops at 72″ wide. Third, the layout differs: the SS08 moves a single panel, while the DS01 and DS13 move two — which is what separates them once the sizes line up.
How to Match a Model to Your Measurements
Work in this order and the model choice falls out of the measurements rather than the other way around.
Measuring the Finished Opening
Measure the width at the top, middle and bottom, and the height at both sides, after tile or wall panels are finished. Record the smallest width, because that is the number the door has to clear, and note any ledge or return wall the enclosure has to sit against. Comparing Your Width to Each Range
Take your smallest measured width and check it against the lists above. If it appears on the DS01 list, the double sliding door is available in that size; if it appears on the SS08 list, the single sliding door is available in the same size. Where the two overlap — most of the middle of the range — what separates them is the layout (one moving panel or two) and the soft-close mechanism, which the DS01 does not have. When to Use Non-Standard Dimensions
Choose non-standard dimensions when your finished opening falls between two standard combinations, when the walls vary by more than the door's adjustment range covers, or when a ledge or knee wall changes the depth the enclosure has to take up. The non-standard dimensions range lists the size options; ordering outside the standard list is a measurement question rather than a different product, so take the final measurement after the surrounding surfaces are complete.
