Match wall connections, hinge angles and glass preparation before choosing a replacement or a new swing-door fitting.
Start with the hinge connection rather than the finish. MCOCOD lists 90-degree wall-mount hinges with H-shaped, full and short back plates, alongside other hinge configurations. The back plate determines how the fitting meets the supporting wall. Compare the existing connection and mounting drawing before selecting a replacement for a frameless swing door.
The 90-degree H-back-plate hinge describes a light-duty version for 8–12 mm tempered glass and a heavy-duty version for 10–12 mm glass. Those ranges describe glass compatibility, not approval for every panel weight or width. Confirm the selected variant, required hinge quantity and permitted door dimensions together.
A hinge replacement must fit the glass cutout as well as the wall fixing pattern. Keep the original hinge or a measured drawing available, including the glass thickness and gasket arrangement. A similarly sized back plate does not establish interchangeability. For new glass, finalize the hinge template before tempering; finished tempered glass should not be recut on site.
Some hinges are described as self-closing, which is a different selection from the damped closing system of a sliding door. Choose the mechanism for the actual swing layout. Fixed-panel glass clamps do a different job and should not replace a hinge supporting a moving door. Have the full hardware arrangement checked if its function is unclear.
